What is LayoverStop?
LayoverStop connects travelers/guests with local people who want to give tours of their hometowns. If you are traveling and you have a long layover, you can book highly customized tours with a local host. We can pick you up or drop you off at the following locations:

  1. Airport
  2. Cruise terminals
  3. Train Stations
  4. Hotels

How does it work?
  1. Check our experiences and packages 
  2. After making your online reservation, we'll match you with a local host and give you all the contact information you need to make a contact with them
  3. After you meet your host, your adventure will begin! Enjoy and get to know your host and the city. Your tour is customized and personalized for you, so ask questions and make the most of it.

Is my credit card info safe?
Yes.

LayoverStop and it's hosts do not handle or store any credit card info on our site. Our payment processing partners are PCI level 1 compliant. They hold all your financial data securely; no one can access it, not even us! You can also pay using Paypal.
Can I cancel my tour and get a refund?
Yes!  We get it. Travel plans change all the time. Contact your host to change/cancel your tour at least 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled tour time for a full refund.
Would you pick-up from the airport?
Yes. Your hosts will pick you up from the airport, the hotel, or any location within your destination city. Your host is happy to accommodate your request, when you book your tour share your must see wishes with your host. It is ok with them to customize your pick up and drop off locations based on your preferences.

I'm travelling solo, do I get a discount?
We run our tours per hour, not per person. We find this to be the most affordable way for both our guests and hosts. If you're travelling solo, try to connect with other travelers to share the cost of the tour together. Up to 4 guests can share the cost of one tour.

Why we do this?

If you think about it, the tour host is using their time, car, gas, and knowledge, whether they are hosting 1 or 4 guests at a time, the tour is going to be the same. So, why not try to share it with others??
